Fire Department
Serving The Community With Pride Since 1904
The department provides fire protection for the City of Winslow, population 9,500, approximately 900 square miles. The Department will respond to calls thirty minutes out of the City limits in any direction. The Department also has mutual aide agreements with other cities in the area. Station I is staffed twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. The Winslow Fire Department has eight full-time paid crossed-trained Fire/EMT-B personnel and 20 on-call positions, some of which are EMT-B personnel as well.
The EMT-B staff of the department provides the highest level possible of pre-hospital emergency care to the residents of Winslow and surrounding areas. The Department provides both BLS (Basic Life Support) and ALS (Advanced Life Support) with 10 EMT-B personnel. The EMT-B staff has a successful AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) program with several saves since the beginning of the program in 1990. All EMT-B providers are required to attend many hours of continuing education to maintain their certifications per DHS regulations and base hospital requirements.
The Winslow Fire Department is proud to serve the Citizens of Winslow as well as those who travel through, visit and stay in the Winslow area. We are committed and strive to continue to provide the highest level of service possible to our citizens.
